Virat Kohli has added his name to the list of cricketers who have helped India battle Covid-19.
Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma contributed Rs 2 crore to the initiative, which aims to raise Rs 7 crore in total. “Virat Kohli and Bollywood superstar Anushka Sharma are planning to collect Rs. 7 crores for Covid relief in India,” the couple claimed in a press release. They're launching a fundraising campaign called #InThisTogether on the crowd-funding website Ketto, and they're investing Rs. 2 crores in it.”
“Since the Covid-19 outbreak, our country has been through challenging times, our health services have been challenged, we need to come together and support our India,” Kohli and Anushka said in a video clip announcing the campaign on social media.
Kohli and Anushka are using the digital crowd-funding platform Ketto to raise money. For the next seven days, the crowdfunding window will be available to receive donations, with all funds going to an organization called ACT Grants, which has been active in humanitarian efforts during the ongoing pandemic.

The other cricketers who stepped up in the fight against the pandemic are Ajinkya Rahane, Hardik and Krunal Pandya, Ajinkya Rahane, Irfan and Yousuf Pathan, Jaydev Unadkat, and Shikhar Dhawan.

Covid-19 slipped through the bio-bubble and infected three members of the Chennai Super Kings camp, cutting Virat Kohli's IPL 2021 campaign short. Wriddhiman Saha, Sandeep Warrier, Varun Chakravarthy, and Amit Mishra are among those who have been contaminated and are currently quarantined.

Virat Kohli will be looking forward to the World Test Championship final against New Zealand, which will take place in England in June.
